The Pareto Principle

Hey friends,

In this weeks newsletter we will talk about the Pareto Principle.

The Pareto principle states that for many outcomes, roughly 80% of consequences come from 20% of causes (the “vital few”). Other names for this principle are the 80/20 rule, the law of the vital few, or the principle of factor sparsity.

In simple English this means that 20% of the work is gets you 80% of the results.

I have exams coming up so I am (hopefully) going to focus on 20% of the material that is 80% of the results and not fixate over getting mediocre things that in the scheme of the exam (and the real world) aren't actually that important. But of course the Pareto Principle can also be transferred to all aspects of life.

And you should too 😉.

Have a great week!

My Favourite Things This Week

  1. Social - Yesterday afternoon I got to hang out with a good friend of mine for a few hours which was awesome.
  2. Play - I really enjoyed playing The Bird O'Donnel in The Field play in school and also I finished the play myself.
